Career Highlights:

Charles Mossey joined the School of Engineering in the Fall of 2016 as an on-call Wood Shop supervisor. Before coming to St. Thomas, he worked at Rockler Woodworking in Maplewood, MN teaching wood working classes and building wood shops for clients. In April of 2019 he was hired on full time as the Mechanical Engineering Lab Coordinator, helping organize both the machine shop and wood shop, while creating and teaching a fabrication safety course alongside Professor Richard Wold.

Personal Summary:

When Charles in not working with students, faculty and staff at St. Thomas, you can most likely find him in his own woodworking shop and art studio. His woodworking involves many different mediums including furniture design, large scale sculptures, custom framing, and wood turning. He is constantly striving to learn more throughout the creative process and stepping out of his safety zone to increase his knowledge base. He is also an avid painter and mural artist. When he's not in the shop, you can find Charles working on vintage motorcycles and vehicles or out biking and exploring.
