
Engineers for World Health
In cooperation with the Engineering World Health (EWH) Summer Institutes, students will spend two months repairing hospital equipment in Rwanda, Tanzania or Guatemala.
The School of Engineering provides several opportunities for individuals to experience truly life-changing global experiences as an undergraduate engineering student. Unique to University of St. Thomas, typically 45% of St. Thomas engineering students study around the world.
Course credits earned during study abroad programs can easily be used in your engineering program so you can still graduate on time. In addition, your financial aid may carry over to study abroad programs, making them more affordable than you might think.
A variety of affordable options exist around the world. Both English and non-English speaking options are available.
In cooperation with the Engineering World Health (EWH) Summer Institutes, students will spend two months repairing hospital equipment in Rwanda, Tanzania or Guatemala.
Students will work with a community in Amman, Jordan for seven weeks, in collaboration with The School for International Training (SIT), to complete projects for the common good.
Local and global internships available
We are partnering with the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany, to provide a dual degree that awards a B.A. in German and a B.S. in engineering. In this 5-year program you will spend one year abroad and have two paid engineering internships, one locally and one in Germany.

The School of Engineering has developed relationships in Australia, Spain and South Korea that incorporate transferable coursework for all engineering majors.
Head to Europe
St. Thomas provides faculty-led study abroad options during January (J-term). These courses provide insights into regional impacts of engineering in various cultures. In your time away you will focus on global problems and their solutions.
