Board of Governors Summit Scholarship

The University of St. Thomas School of Engineering will offer one $10,000 scholarship to an entering first-time, first-year student who has excelled both inside and outside the classroom while in high school and intends to pursue a degree in engineering starting in fall 2025. This award is renewable for three more years for a total of $40,000.

    • Applicants must apply and be admitted to St. Thomas as a first-time, first-year undergraduate in the fall of 2025.
    • Applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.50 or higher by the end of your junior year as reported on your official transcript and a strong class rank.

    Requirements

    • The scholarship recipient must continue to express an academic interest in the field of engineering and officially declare a major in one of the following undergraduate engineering programs by the end of the second year at St. Thomas: civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering. In addition, the recipient is expected to be active in one of the engineering student professional organizations and periodically represent the School of Engineering at events.
    • Recipients must maintain a 3.0 institutional GPA to renew their scholarships. Scholarships may be renewed for three years.

    Students who meet the scholarship eligibility requirements listed above are encouraged to submit an online scholarship application and essay.

    Important Dates

    • January 15, 2025: Deadline to apply for admission to the University of St. Thomas and remain a candidate for this scholarship.
    • March 6, 2025: Deadline for online scholarship applications, including your essay and list of accomplishments.
    • Late March 2025: Finalists will be selected and asked to interview with the scholarship committee. One scholarship recipient will be chosen from these finalists.
    • April 2025: Announcement of scholarship recipient.
    • May 1, 2025: Deadline for acceptance of all scholarships.
