Diversity and Inclusion
Diverse teams tackle engineering challenges better.
We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive community for our students, faculty and staff. Our education emphasizes cultural awareness training dispersed throughout the curriculum that begins listening to all stakeholders and understanding diverse perspectives - key skills for any engineering career. Celebrating our differences is a positive, proactive approach to educating engineers to work on inclusive teams.
Our clubs are open to all students. We have active chapters of Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
Female Faculty
St Thomas ranks in the nation's top ten schools and colleges of engineering for percentage of female faculty. We celebrate our inclusive environment for all women in the School of Engineering.
We welcome international students and work closely with the Office of International Students and Scholars.
