International Graduate Admissions

Graduate Engineering and the University of St. Thomas welcome applications from international students.

We are proud to have a culturally diverse student body representing nations from all across the globe. International students represent just over 10% percent of the Graduate Programs in Engineering student body.

In cooperation with the University of St. Thomas’ Office of International Students and Scholars, we will assist you step-by-step with the application process.

We encourage all international students who live outside of the United States to apply at least four months prior to the start of the term in which you desire entry.

To apply for admission to a master's degree program, you will need the following:

  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a regionally-accredited educational institution in the U.S. (or international equivalent).
  • An overall grade-point-average (GPA) of at least 2.7 out of 4.0.

As soon as you start an application, please work to request all official transcripts from each college/ university you've attended.

If you have completed coursework or a degree at an institution WITHIN the United States, contact the Registrar's office of each U.S. college or university you've attended and request the direct delivery of your official transcripts to our graduate admissions office. Official transcripts must be sent directly from the issuing institution's Registrar office to the University of St. Thomas.

If you have completed coursework or a degree at an institution OUTSIDE the United States, you are required to obtain a complete course-by-course transcript evaluation. We recommend transcript evaluations from Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES).
